Coombe Lane West, Kingston Upon Thames

Our project in Kingston at Coombe Lane West is the construction of a private dwelling, which commenced early this year, 2007.

On this particular project we are carrying out the substructure brick & blockwork and ground floor beam and block floor. The inner leaf of the 4500 sq ft house is built using Celcon's thin joint system with 125mm thick jumbo plus standard blocks, overlaid with 40mm thick TP10 Kingspan insulation. Steelwork at 1st floor level has been designed in to support a further beam and block floor. Partitions at 1st floor forming the bedroom areas are built again using the thin joint system. The roof construction is formed using trusses, felt and battened by ourselves leaving a water tight shell ready for 1st fix trades to commence.

We are also carrying out the external brickwork skin; this is built as a separate operation to the inner leaf, whilst internal works are progressed. Helical wall ties are used to tie the brickwork to the inner leaf. Two large chimneys are being built including flues and fireplaces.
