COVID 19 – MFS Trading and continuing services statement from Norman Hinckes, MD.

We at Masonry Frame Systems Ltd have been closely monitoring the Government guidelines over recent days regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and the unprecedented impact this is having both at home and abroad.

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing of all our employees and our daily contacts is and will remain our top priority. With this in mind, we took the decision to suspend all site operations for the foreseeable future as of 24th March 2020.

Whilst we appreciate the Government’s most recent guidelines and the Leadership they are displaying in trying to support and manage us through these most extraordinary times; we believe that trying to maintain a fully functioning Construction Site with a plethora of multi trades, often working in teams, travelling from far and wide, sharing the same Welfare Facilities, Access and Egress points, invariably in confined spaces is an undue risk to theirs and their families Health and will only increase the mounting pressure that we are placing on our already stretched NHS at this critical juncture.

On one hand this was a difficult decision to make but on the other a very simple decision as we have a Responsibility and Duty of Care to do the Right Thing by Everyone. These are exceptional times and the decision was made in line with the Government guidance to Help Protect our Society from this Deadly Virus.

The situation is changing on a daily basis, we will continue to monitor and will take appropriate action over the coming weeks, when we feel it is appropriate to do so.

We will keep you informed and updated though our website and our social media channels as the situation unfolds and as soon as we feel it is safe to do so, we will be ready to pick up where we left off.

Notwithstanding this, we remain positive and are trying to use our time as productively as we can in order to mitigate any lasting and damaging effects to our business. All our core staff are either working from home, in the office alone, or in groups that reside together. We are also using online meeting platforms to eliminate ‘face to face’ contact with our clients, supply chain and to maintain team morale. We all stand together – Virtually!!!

Moving forward, we will continue to work where we can, with whom we can and are currently planning a couple of projects, undertaking a Cost / Benefit analyses for clients, as well as some R&D projects for our own business.

We are still looking to continue our CPDs with prospective clients, now over ‘Zoom’ as we look to utilise this time to plan for the Post-Covid landscape, where Cost and Time will be more pertinent than ever!

We hope that in taking these measures, we will proactively manage the risk to the Health of our MFS team and the wider society as a whole and will be able to return to ‘normal business’ as quickly as possible after this unprecedented threat has passed.

In the meantime, we would like to thank all our clients, wider supply chain and our employees and families for their continued support; and wish you all well through these unprecedented times and look forward to working with you all again as soon as we can.
