Xella Ytong Factsheet

Crest Nicholson, approached us at MFS to carry out the masonry frame of Albert Crescent. We used the Xella Ytong blockwork system for the project. Xella being Crest’s preferred block supplier. By using our Masonry Frame System the inner leaves were taken up first, with the bath stone block cladding following on behind.

The construction included structural steelwork, engineered eco joist floors (for the houses), pre cast concrete floors and staircases (for the apartment’s and commercial units), a lift shaft, cut and pitched roofs and flat roof decking to the garage areas.

A self erecting remote control tower crane was key to the construction process along with the cuplock scaffolding system that was assembled quickly as the work rose.

We completed Blocks B1 & B2, comprising 24 superb town houses in Albert Crescent on the prestigious Riverside regeneration site. The Albert Crescent blocks are within a 44 Acre site and are part of the 2200 new homes development that Crest Nicholson have been constructing since 2011. The 24 new homes within Albert Crescent were designed by the award winning architectural practice, Alison Brooks Architects.

The Riverside development is a stunning collection of new homes situated near Bath’s city centre. The project transformed Bath’s western riverfront into a modern residential quarter benefitting residents and visitors for years to come. The whole Riverside regeneration created a number of new homes offering high quality residences from studios to 4 bedroom homes. Set on the banks of the River Avon, these new homes have a rare opportunity few residential developments can benefit from; direct access to the riverside whilst being within walking distance of the town centre.
